Note: For some multiple-CD sets, these instructions will have to be adapted somewhat.
Title Labels Cut the title label after printing and remove all blank areas. Place it in the lower right-hand corner on the rear of the booklet insert. Processors should use their judgment when applying the label so as not to obscure important information. Go to the spine label and cut out the color code portion of the call number. Please it above the title label. NOTE: For digipaks, place the labels directly on the case and cover them with clear tape.
Spine labels The spine label gets cut into several pieces. The "CD" portion gets discarded. The color code gets affixed above the title label. The remaining contents function as a spine label. Here is an example:

The number and copy number (if there is one) should be placed on the spine of the CD, but inside the jewel case so it is protected. To accomplish this, disassemble the jewel case by removing the rear plastic insert that holds the CD to access the back insert.
Tape (color codes) While the case is disassembled, wrap a small piece of colored tape (corresponding to the color found on the spine label) around the spine (as close to the top as possible) and reassemble the case.

CD number The CD number, the abbreviation of the owning library and the copy number (taken directly from the spine label) should be clearly written near the center of the disc with a black fine-tip marker. If the CD itself is black or another dark color, a silver marker should be used.
Security CDs have special round security overlays. These should be placed directly on the front of the CD (be sure you have already written the CD number). Take care that the metal security strip does not cover any part of the barcode, and that the security goes on smoothly with no bubbles. In the case of multi-CD sets, all discs receive security stickers. Only CDs for Albright and Abington get security.

Processing Instructions for CD Box Sets
1. Only one label is needed. It is affixed to the box.
2. Each CD must have the CD ID number and library abbreviation written on the "donut" of the CD.
3. Affix security for all Abington and Albright CD's.
4. Affix a title label to the box in a way that does not obscure important information.
5. Place the color code label above the Library Name on the title label.
6. For the cover of the box, cut the spine label as if you were processing a CD. Cover the labels with 2"
tape and affix the proper color code tape on the spine at the top of the box.
