Talking Books (CD)

Labels:

Spine labels      The spine label should be placed on the paper insert of the talking book case, so that it appears on the spine of the case, 1/8th inch from the bottom.

Dots                 The colored dot should be placed over the spine label, so that the lower edge of the dot matches up with the lower edge of the label.

Special Stickers

For talking books books designated as  MYS, SPANISH, SCI/FI, WEST, or YOUNG ADULT (these will be in the first part of the call number), there are special stickers that go on the spine, directly above the spine label.  Check the call number to see if the talking book you are working on needs one of these stickers.

If the call number specifies more than one special sticker, place the stickers on the spine of the talking book according to their order on the Spine Label.

MP3 Stickers

If the talking book is in MP3 format, a “Warning! MP3 format only!” sticker should be applied on the outside of the front cover.

Title labels        The title label should be placed in the upper right-hand corner on the inside of the front cover.

Owning library  Each Talking Book CD should have library identification and copy number printed on each disc with black permanent marker.

Security            Abington and Scranton CD talking books get the same security that is used on music CDs.  These should be placed only on the first disc only, directly on the front of the disc.  Take care that the security goes on smoothly, with no bubbles.
